Amazingly well-crafted story

Looking at the cover, I was on the fence. Your standard adolescent dystopian fiction? Yawn. However, I did start reading it and one chapter in I thought, "Holy hell, this book is AWESOME." I didn't put it down until I literally had to leave for work (I got about 250 pages in). I would have read it all in one sitting if not for work! The story is unlike any I've read before, but it also has familiar elements. Not only does it involve adventure, friendship, teamwork, etc. but statements about larger issues, like the value of war, technology, ownership, and authority. It's kind of like a combination of The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings, but written by Neal Stephenson. Please, please write a sequel! I'm dying to know what happens next.

A page turner of high fantasy set in the near future. I highly recommend this fun book to anyone.

Expedition Summerlands has all of the elements of high fantasy that I love set in a hyper capitalist future that feels like a real eventuality. The main character Emma makes relatable hard decisions on this adventure that explores the Summerlands, a newly discovered alternate universe. Of course she's got to get those streaming viewers for the fans back on Earth and she takes some very big risks to try to become one of the most popular adventurers. I couldn't stop reading the exciting tale and it left me wishing for more adventures in the Summerlands. I highly recommend this book for any teen reader or adult.

This book was fantastic. You won't be able to put it down! This is the first book from this author that I've read and I was very happy that I did. I'm looking forward to more in this RPG world, hopefully it becomes a series. I'm eager to learn what other trouble his characters can get into!

Fantastic story, start to finish.

I read a lot of books. But this story about Emma, Magpie, Cass and the rest of the group was really enjoyable. It wasn't technically litrpg, even though it was tagged as such, but I give it a pass because it was such a fun story.
The characters are well developed, and likeable. I really hope that Nathaniel Webb writes a sequel.. Or three....
